So...after my big Pow-Wow with the head, SENCO, head of year and form teacher, I left the meeting feeling more confident that my son was going to be safe at school.
The meeting was on the Tuesday.
On the Friday, my son came home and told me that at playtime, he had been chased and bullied by two bigger boys. My daughter had intervened to try and stop them, but they continued with their bullying.
My son kept repeating in a rehearsed voice: "It's OK. It has been dealt with".
Someone has been feeding him a line, clearly.
I asked what had happened about the so-called "circle of friends" that the teachers had arranged to look after him at playtimes.
"They didn't want to play with me, so they played with their other friends". He said.
Hmmmm......
Are there any clubs your son could join at the lunch break,so his time was more organised. If he's bright but finds social situations difficult Chess Club would be good.Or trying to take him to an activity out of school where some of the kids in his year/class go to.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Lin. As far as I know, the school does not run any lunchtime clubs, but I may suggest it to the staff
